World Class Global, developer of the $550 million Nova City Cairns project, hosted a special gathering of civic leaders and development stakeholders last night for the opening of its Spence Street display suite.
Following the commencement last week of an extensive civil works project on the 24,000 square metre development site, last night’s celebration marked another significant step in the future transformation of Cairns CBD into a vibrant, world-class gateway.
Nova City Cairns will be defined by its impressive glass cladded façade incorporating seven towers and dynamic public spaces that connect retail, dining, residential and commercial elements.
In creating a sense of what’s to come in Nova City’s bold new vision for Cairns, the 400 square metre display gallery was created at a cost of $2 million to tie-in key retail, residential and marketing elements destined to inspire potential investors and visitors.
The display suite is expansive and comprises three domains. From the street visitors are welcomed into a retail galleria before being greeted at reception and invited to experience a new level of sophistication in the urbanely chic waiting area. Once inside, a large, intricate model of the entire development takes centre stage and is flanked to the left and right by luxurious marble and timber kitchens and bathrooms indicative of Nova Light’s ultimate penthouse apartments showing alternative colourways.
Melding European marble, timbers and rich metallic tones and textures with minimalist high end furnishings and the latest appliances and fittings for classic, enduring appeal, the interiors have been curated by Melbourne-based, award-winning interior design firm, Hecker Guthrie.
According to World Class Global’s sales director, Zak Thaker, Nova City will offer an unprecedented level of luxury to inner-city living but with elegant restraint in keeping with Cairns and its tropical lifestyle.
“What we have here is the best of the best. The highest quality marbles, timbers and soft furnishings that exude lifestyle luxury but stand the test of time. In essence, the overriding feel is cool, contemporary and carefully understated,” said Mr Thaker.
The first of seven towers and an anticipated seven-year development timeframe, Nova Light leads the way with construction of the 17-storey, 187 apartment tower expected to begin next year. The development will incorporate two gallery levels along with Club Nova which is a landscaped, lifestyle, entertainment and recreation area for residents to enjoy.
Mayor of Cairns Regional Council, councillor Bob Manning said this project will inject confidence and vibrancy into the city with many benefits for the community including jobs for local people.
“Nova City heralds an exciting new era for Cairns and alongside other key developments underway including the Performing Arts Centre and Aquarium, there has never been a better time to live in, visit or invest in Cairns. Our time is now,” said cr Manning.
The display suite will be open between 10am and 4pm weekdays and between 11am and 3pm on weekends.
