World Class Land unveils the Southern Hemisphere's Tallest Residences

  • Australia 108 to be home to Australia's highest super penthouse, offering a luxurious home above the clouds at an elevation of 319 metres

At 319 metres above Melbourne, the tallest residences in the southern hemisphere have been unveiled by Singaporean developer World Class Land Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Aspial.

Designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects, Australia 108's 1105 luxury apartments will go on sale in Melbourne in February to those looking for an iconic home in what will be the southern hemisphere's tallest residential building when completed in 2019.
With habitable levels up to level 100, the $1 billion Australia 108 tower will surpass Q1 on the Gold Coast, which although four metres taller, only has 71 habitable levels.

Aspial CEO Koh Wee Seng said Australia 108 would offer an unparalleled level of luxury to its residents.

"Australia 108 will go where no development has gone before. As the tallest tower in the southern hemisphere, it will offer one of the world's most luxurious lifestyles, the largest communal recreation facilities in Australia as well as world-class luxury apartment living," Mr Koh said.

"The closer to heaven you get in Australia 108, the more spectacular the living environment 鈥?and not just for the views. This is a project we believe is truly cloud-breaking in its luxury, design and amenity."

Divided into two exclusive experiences, the building's 161 Cloud Residences above level 71 will feature a private lobby with personal concierge and private lift as well as an exclusive recreation facility within the Star Club with an infinity pool, private gym and entertaining facilities.

CBRE Managing Director, Residential Projects, Andrew Leoncelli, said: "This is a truly unique approach designed to create a sense of exclusivity for residents on the upper levels and cater for the privacy these purchasers crave.

"It is complemented by a never-before-seen level of design in the lower level Sky Rise apartments, which set them apart from anything that has been offered to the Australian market before."

Multi award-winning Australian interior and architecture firm Carr Design Group has created spaces that bring apartment design into the realm of five-star hotel living, with Carrara marble, limestone and stone bathtubs as well as bespoke joinery typical of premium apartments.

Meanwhile, international hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), responsible for the interiors of some of the world's most luxurious properties including the Wynn Encore in Las Vegas, Park Hyatt Maldives and the Park Lane Intercontinental in London, has exclusively designed the facilities available only to Cloud Residence owners including the private lobby and exclusive recreation facilities.

The building's exclusive Star Club enclave devoted to health, wellbeing and entertaining is contained in the building's striking external starburst feature, which visually perforates the tower's curvaceous fa莽ade at level 70, or 210 metres from the ground.
Within this two-storey starburst will sit the majority of the building's record 3000 square metres of communal space, divided into two realms to provide premium owners with privacy.

Here will sit Australia's two highest swimming spots contained in spectacular double height spaces. The infinity pools set against floor-to-ceiling glass give swimmers a view of either the glittering city skyline or shimmering bay, "There will be not a more spectacular place to take a dip than in Australia 108. Not for the faint of heart, these pools offer breathtaking views 210 metres above ground," Mr Leoncelli said.

The Star Club's facilities also extend to dual gymnasiums, private theatrettes, bars, club lounges and private dining areas in which to entertain friends and family.

On level 11 further space is devoted to another pool and gym as well as sauna, steam room, golf simulator, outdoor deck and entertaining spaces.

Crowning the building will be the tallest residence in the southern hemisphere 鈥?a 797.4 square metre penthouse. This sprawling suite with multi-million dollar 360 degree views of Melbourne comes fully customisable and with a price tag of more than $20 million.
